Polymer clay is a fantastic art medium. It allows the production of colourful, intricate and highly detailed images. The techniques used draw upon many art forms, including the skills of the Venetian millefiori glass makers and Japanese mokume gane metal workers.
This fine and original jewellery is created from colourful manmade clays. Some of the jewellery is made using a modern adaptation of an ancient Venetian glassmaking technique called millefiori (thousand flowers). The highly detailed images are made by forming the pattern from the coloured clays within a bar or cane with the image in cross section, like a stick of rock! The image can be reduced to any size. Slices are then cut and individually applied to form the item of jewellery. Because of this production technique all designs are limited editions - some pieces are unique.
